Pffft!
I'm so happy somebody stood up to those half-baked, tween-happy lazy idiots who keep getting front pages for shit humor. Good on you.
I'm not going to review this, I'm not in the mood.

Glass cock
I don't know if I should laugh or not at some of the stuff in this, the music puts me off from laughing.
I liked the feel of this, grainy and filthy like like an old mans arm pit. So brutal and disturbing that I keep thinking about how someone can take the time to animate this. I'm not going to say much about the music, but I'm not going to listen to Aphex twins' 'Xtal' the same way again.
I agree with Nine-Eleven when he sais that some artists' quality is slowly eroded away by a torrent of popularity, you however don't seem to give a flying cack about how popular you are. This stuff comes from the vibrating lump of coal that should be your heart, expression with no boundries.
Good show sir!
A wonderful little feel good animation.
The use of one background throughout the entire animation was quite brave and refreshing. It's nice to see a 'less is more' approach to a story rather than using tons of backgrounds for pointless angles.
I bet there'd be thousands of N00BS and HAXXXORZ ranting on about how there was no plot but plot's not important here, The seamless and intricate detail of the characters and their movements are. They moved like they looked, clumsy and childish.
More of this sort.
Lazy but cute
An enjoyable romp with nice music direction and sync. But:
Skaijo had the right balance with 'Roadkill and juliet' this on the other hand is a complete overdose. I have watched this far too many times and have failed to see an equilibrium between art and animation. There was an "If I photoshop stuff I'll get better graphics" mentality. This seemed rushed to me and speaking from personal experience I'd know, there was no deadline for this to be out what was wrong with polishing things up before posting?
This might as well be a foamy rant, riding the 'remember me?' bitch into the front page. You have skill, I don't deny that, but when it's being wasted on such a self-obsessed excuse to post I dispair. Something with an engaging plot (I'm well aware of the irony) would have been nice, something innovative, anything!
Sensetive memoir
It's good to see this type of film being put on Newgrounds. I speak for a few people when I say that super seian stick men and metal slug parodies have been put up here ad nausium.
This film has a very industrial almost bleak pallet that gives it a realistic edge to the anxiety of the lead character. All the characters felt more human in the way that they were shown doing remedial things in such fine detail and accuracy, but also through the dialogue you had further insight into the characters (albiet the lead ones) proving that dialogue can be a ying to animations yang.
There were one or two problems with the script at some points, for example the police woman at the end seeming almost telepathic.
This was time well spent, for you animating and for me watching it.
Gritty:
I could spew forever with referances to other things I've seen like 'Monkeydust' or 'Fancy soup' for the better part of a minuet.
I very much like the drawings and the sense of dysmal gloom to the setting, although it would have benefited from some things going on in the background.
That story was just weird. To hear someone croak about having the worst shit in living memory isn't something you hear every day.
I liked this, it had a very profesional look to it and obvious effort had be put in. I hope to see more of this sort.
Unbiest and incredible.
It's good to see an unbiest document on a subject of this nature. To me Michael Moore was blaming American life as the cause and left me feeling somewhat dissmayed by him for striving for a cause for something like Colombine to happen. This flash has a message not of good and evil but that everyones human. There was no sympathy for either shooters or victims, basically the flash treated almost all the people as the same.
Simularity to a film such as Elephant should not be seen as a flaw but as inspiration. And besides flash is a new media and the story of colombine has already been represented in film, radio, book et al so it is a bold statment to make one in flash.
Animation was superb. I've seen numerous serious films on NG with graphics that coulden't support the subject matter but this is perfect. The people in it were treated as humans in the way they moved and looked, it is increadable observation on your part. The backgrounds were detailed but not distractingly so, perspective was spot on and it cannot be flawed.
Finally, it is incredible to see something with such depth and built on such strong pillars of research that this could be broadcast worthy. Very well done.
Rom com
What an odd story. One which was dark in a way seeings that it all might just be in the girls head.
I liked the style to this, a bit of Vinnie and your own personal style of animation with one frame jumps into the next pose. The girl was very well animated what with the frindge at the front moving which is something a lot of animators would have ignored. Moreover you had some kind of insight into the neature of the girl in the way that she held her hands and herself, brilliant attention to detail Because of this you have a sense of feeling for the character making her memorable.
I'm not going to pass any judgment on the music appart from it was good for the movie but I woulden't personally listen to it myself.
That plot though was as weird as a beard, I think I'm the only one who thought that the half-pint goths (emos) have started some kind of underground world domination what with the Emo police and all.
Anyway I've lost the sight in my left eye so I think I'll go and have a lie down now.
It is an odd story--weird as a beard. Heh.
I'm glad you caught that "Maybe she's just crazy vibe" too. I'll admit that the fact that it's all in the girl's head has a certain possiblitity--but it's so much fun to see it as pioneers into a new frontier of love, girls and hawks, why not?
I'm appreciative that you so kindly acknoledged the level of detail in the movie--and that you'd would note that the song choice was good for the animation even despite the fact that it wouldn't make it into your personal .mp3 archive.
Thanks for the love. I seriously appreciate it.
Hope your eye feels better.
Cute and insightful
It's a very childish film in a good way, very kids story book in the sense that the plot has a happy ending and that the unpredictable isn't as frightening as you think. This is an animation that makes me want to go out and look at everything like a kid again.
The part with the TV was my favorate, the entire world was a white expanse untill it exploded and then the world faded in again. It's quite ironic that flash was used for this seeings that people spend as much time on the internet as some do in front of TV. But it's a good choice seeings that the message is going to be seen by so many, the thing you're condemning has become a savior.
The title sequence was very original and reminded me of a film I saw once called 'Kikojiro' ... at least that's what I think it's called. I loved the music, very optimistic and went well with the summer weather I'm experiencing over here. I'm off now to go out somewhere and say hello to some clouds.
Not up to much nowerdays.
