Innovative

Firstly, I had to watch the chicken walk past at least nine or ten times before starting the animation that hypnotized stare was worth watching more than once.
I started off slow, but I didn't notice it. I was as curious as the chicken not knowing what was inside the egg. The reason I probably didn't notice was the frame-by-frame animation of such simple yet charming movements. The egg was incredible, the idea of it being a mouth was very innovative thinking of image play and it was completely unexpected.
Lastly the head being eaten was that last jolt into how dark this animation was despite the cute graphics and the happless chicken that killed him/her. God knows what came first the chicken or the egg, but at least the egg gets a meal out of it.

Nice review. Thanks for watching, and thanks for writing such a thoughtful review.

Good stuff:

I like the innocent look of the main character and how it is betrayed almost instantly by her murderous deeds. The eyes especially -although swimming in dark outlines- look very shoujo like. The way this film was directed was superb, each scene looked like it had been lifted directly out of a twisted fairy tale book which the lines of poetry only strengthens my point. The minimalist approach to the animation worked in its favor, firstly there was no point to anything moving that much because this wasn't action driven and secondly I coulden't appreciate the beautifully drawn artwork.
I'm not going to go into the meaning of this film and how (personally) I think it reminds me a bit of little red riding hood albiet a black riding hood, there's far too many explinations here already. I'd give this a 5 if it were still in the portal, no sequal required in my opinion it would spoil the original.

Very poetic

I have no speakers at the moment so please forgive the 0 for sound.
The idea that this was all pencil drawn gives it a very dream like quality, not knowing if anything really exists. But also a smooth and accurate line wich fared well in the animation.
It was a good idea to keep the plot simple for a first submission and a very poetic plot at that. I also liked the way the charecter moved throughout the film. Very elegant and accurate movements but also very cartoony at times. Lovely stuff, more please.

An eye for an eye leaves the world blind

I'm surprised that nobody (to my knowledge) has picked up on the blatant imagery form the Animatrix : the second renascence. Firstly I can see why this made the front page, war fetish and pro-American banter seems to be rife around these parts.
From an animation point of view it was a bit wooden at times but was covered up by frighteningly detailed machinery and accurate camera angles. I'm not going into what I thought about the unbelievable and ignorant story (it's only fantasy at the end of the day) but it was executed well in a newsreel style.
That's all I can say really, I'm not praising this film, nor am I condemning it. But I see this as a good stepping stone for future projects.

Has Gordon Freeman been moonlighting as Major Tom?

Very simple and effective graphics here, the same goes for character design which is worthy of 'Pictoplasma'. Although you said the animation slips a little out of sink I personally didn't notice anything, the animation fitted the music perfectly.
Nice camera work with the spinning pod and fading in and out, I'd love to see more of this kind of thing. It would please the ignorant masses.

FargalEX responds:

Since when did Gordon Freeman have sideburns, eh?

Haha, thanks for the comments dude.

You said it ...

it is strange.

I liked the graphics in this a lot, it looked like pages out of a sketch pad or some doodles. That gave it a nice colour scheme of the grays, black and reds. Which is more stylized than your other work in my opinion.
The music didn't fit well in my opinion, despite it having the same name (for what reason I don't know) it was too cheerful for the context and feel of the animation.

Resize it now!

God knows what happened but it was far too tall. That aside, this animation was as well animated as it was funny. And as weird as a beard.

That is all

Bit mental this

Do you sleep? Or do you have a small slave labor camp to produce such high quality animation in such short (in animation context) time? This is the zaniest episode I've seen thus far with the strange arm animations which reminded me a little of 'Excel saga'. I can't fault the animation style, it is quite unique in the way the characters are thrown around and the importance of image over object.
It's nice to see some of the small changes to do with the intro sequence and said arm animation, it proves that you're growing in confidence. As if you needed more. Pfff!

Are you familiar with Chris Morris?

Quite a unique style although some may disagree. It reminded me a lot of 'Blue jam' what with the music being the same volume (if not louder) than the talking. Moreover it's quite a weird sketch.
Not much else to say bar the obvious strange cubland neon flashing and some good (but not entirely fitting) music.

Lovely stuff

The attention to detail was impressive, anyone else would have just ignored the buildings in the background as 3D objects. Emotions are over rated. He's a lucky lad.
Good stuff

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Haha! Yes, sometimes I think that emotions are over rated too...

Thanks for reviewing!

PS you are the first reviewer to mention that about the BG buildings! Good eye, man! :)

Not up to much nowerdays.
